DESCRIPTION:With kids back in the classroom\, it's the perfect time for parents to prepare for a child's first cellphone. Although each family's guidelines may be different\, it's important to have a conversation around internet safety to ensure devices are used appropriately. According to a recent U.S. Cellular survey\, among people with children\, 52 percent have a child with a cellphone primarily for safety reasons. U.S. Cellular will host a free Device Workshop in Kearney\, where associates will recommend tips for parents to encourage healthy cellphone usage with their children. The workshop is open to everyone. Attendees do not have to be a U.S. Cellular customer to attend. "We recognize the importance of families communicating with children about cellphone safety and etiquette along with the responsibility that comes with having one of their own\," said Mike Adams\, U.S. Cellular's director of sales for Nebraska and Iowa. "Our associates are available to assist parents in guiding the conversation and ensuring the transition goes smoothly."
