Student Support Specialist
Reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs. Provides complex administrative support and management for numerous projects and activities in Student Affairs and supports the recruitment and retention of students. Oversees and coordinates quality assurance in administrative/front office practices for the Division of Student Affairs; helps assure efficiencies, business continuity and administrative staff professional development, especially pertaining to customer service. Serves as initial point of contact for Student Affairs for a variety of issues. Coordinates priority projects and events for Student Affairs as assigned by the Associate Vice Chancellor. Possesses a thorough understanding of the issues with which the Associate Vice Chancellor is concerned; uses independent judgment, tact, and decisiveness.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Five years of progressively responsible and relevant work experience, including personnel and office supervision. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if comparable.
- A self-starter with skills in organizing and maintaining an administrative office to meet the needs of a diverse university community.
- Experience with university student population, ability to outreach to parents and guardians of students, network with students, faculty, and staff.
- Experience in a complex communication environment.

Experience in a university setting
