Director of Finance

The City of Kearney Finance Department is looking for an organized and detail-oriented individual to oversee operating standards, administer, coordinate, supervise and control all financial, records management and accounting activities for the city. Manage a small department that is responsible for billing, payroll, and claims. Perform difficult work requiring significant interpretive judgment in variation from established procedures and standards.  A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or public administration, or a related field with emphasis in governmental finance and accounting. Master’s degree is preferred. Registration as a CPA is preferred, with five years of progressively responsible experience in governmental finance and accounting, including two years in a supervisory capacity.  Must qualify to be bonded.  Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Salary range: $117,041 - $170,111 DOQ.
