MARINE TECHNICIAN — Full Time
This is a clean, rewarding, and well-compensated career path. Certified marine technicians (Mercury and Yamaha) typically earn between $65,000 and $80,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Full details will be provided during the interview process.
Work Schedule:
Tuesday–Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
PRIMARY DUTIES:

Diagnose a wide range of issues on new and pre-owned boats, motors, and trailers using both advanced computer diagnostics and hands-on mechanical intuition.

Accurately complete documentation for each work order and service assignment.

Pursue and maintain marine certification to stay current with industry standards.

Confidently operate a variety of shop tools and equipment.

Stay up to date with cutting-edge marine diagnostic technologies and repair techniques.

Perform repairs and rigging on a variety of boats, including outboards, sterndrives, inboards, and trailers.

Conduct routine maintenance services and multi-point inspections.

Communicate any unexpected issues or additional repairs to the Service Manager, who will coordinate with the customer.

Complete assigned tasks efficiently and thoroughly, ensuring a high standard of workmanship.

Collaborate effectively with other technicians in a team-oriented environment.

Provide your own hand tools; specialty tools are supplied by the company.

Assist in the setup and on-water testing of new boats, including transporting boats to and from the test pit.

Carry out seasonal services such as winterizations and summarizations.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace at all times.

Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, independence, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Report directly to the Service Manager and support overall service department goals and quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

3–5 years of experience in mechanical service or parts within the marine, automotive, or agricultural industries.

Physically capable of frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, and using both hands with various tools.

Must be able to lift 40–50 lbs. regularly and assist with lifting items up to 80 lbs.

Comfortable standing for extended periods and frequently entering/exiting boats and vehicles.

Valid driver’s license required.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, team members, and customers.

Able to work in a variety of environments, including both indoor and outdoor conditions.

Willingness to complete manufacturer-required training and certifications (e.g., Certified Technician, Master Technician programs) to maintain up-to-date knowledge and credentials.
