Good Samaritan hosts FREE night at Children’s Museum
KEARNEY, NE- Safe Kids Platte Valley, established by CHI Health Good Samaritan, is celebrating the hospital’s 100th birthday with a free family event. The community is invited to Free Family Fun Night at the Kearney Area Children’s Museum from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, April 18. Admission to the museum is free.

The event will celebrate kids, help families learn more about injury prevention, and honor the hospital’s years of safety awareness efforts. In addition to the museum’s permanent attractions, children can meet real-life Good Samaritan EMS providers and explore interactive exhibits teaching families how to stay safe on the road, at home, and at play.
Starting at 5 pm, a free hotdog meal will be served to the first 150 participants. In addition, children are encouraged to bring their favorite stuffed animal for a check-up at the Teddy Bear Clinic offered by CHI Health Clinic providers.
Preventable injuries are the number one cause of death for children in the U.S.--killing a million children each year, worldwide. Good Samaritan and Safe Kids Platte Valley are dedicated to raising awareness about child injury prevention and inspiring parents to focus on proven and practical tips to keep their kids safe.
More about Good Samaritan’s 100th Birthday: On July 23, 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan officially opened its doors…and those doors haven’t closed since. Much has changed, but the hospital’s compassion for the sick and dedication to our region remain the same. Transformed from a community hospital into a thriving regional referral center, it all started with pioneering Kearneyites, devoted Sisters, and men and women answering the call to care.

This year, Good Samaritan will celebrate its 100th birthday and that spirit of innovation that’s been with them from the beginning. Each month leading up to the big birthday, Good Samaritan will sponsor events that honor their staff and community that have been so integral to their success. Join Good Samaritan as they celebrate 100 Years: Honoring our legacy, innovating the future.

More about Safe Kids Platte Valley: Safe Kids Platte Valley, a member of Safe Kids Worldwide, was established in 2003 by CHI Health Good Samaritan.
