Environmental Service Technician - NE Cancer Center (UNK Campus)
JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the UNK Custodial Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing custodial duties for medical facilities on campus. Quality customer service will be provided to the client at all times. Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential.
Daily job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to:
General Cleaning
Dust horizontal/vertical furniture, stair rails & vents
Clean & Sanitize office furniture, desktops, cabinets
Clean & Sanitize sinks, countertops, cabinets & appliances in breakrooms & Kitchenettes
Restock dispensers
Clean Walls
Clean windowsills & windows
Remove trash/recycling & replace liners
Vacuuming, sweeping, & mopping of floors & stairs
Clean & Sanitize Restrooms & Locker rooms
Dust horizontal/vertical, lockers, stalls, vents
Clean & Sanitize sinks, countertops, stalls, showers, toilets & urinals
Clean Mirrors
Restock dispensers
Remove trash & replace liners
Sweep & mop floors
Clean Drains
Other tasks
Attend to emergency calls when necessary
Lock & Unlock Interior & exterior doors
Replacing lights using an 8-foot ladder
Using an 8-foot ladder and/or hydraulic lift for general cleaning of high areas
Clean & Sanitize Drinking fountains
Moving furniture, supplies & equipment to complete cleaning functions
Always Wearing Proper Protection Equipment
Refinishing floors using chemical stripper, wax & various equipment
Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning using carpet extractors & chemical pre-spray
Exterior Window cleaning using various cleaning equipment
Assist with Set up & Tear down for special events
Moving & Stacking furniture
Maintain Custodial Areas
Properly Operate, Maintain & Store various cleaning equipment for floor care & general cleaning
Stock & Restock Custodial closets & Bulk storage areas
Proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals
Maintain Custodial closets/areas in a clean, organized and safe manner
Snow removal from entrances, steps & sidewalks within 15 feet of a building using shovel/snow blower & dispersing salt. This task occurs generally within 15 feet but is unique for each building.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or relevant custodial experience. A valid driver’s license
Negative result of 10-panel urine drug screen must be completed within 60 days of assigned start date. Proof of evidence of completion of MMR, Varicella, Tetanus/Dtap/Td, and Hepatitis B vaccinations and proof of TB screening prior to assigned start date. Pre-employment health screening.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous custodial experience in the medical buildings
